  • Chairperson: Susan Quinn

    Susan is a Fitzroy North local who loves being out on the bike or on foot in our wonderful local area. She has a background in publishing, policy advice, consumer advocacy and charities regulation, and currently works in financial regulation.

    Susan was appointed Chairperson for Holden Street at the end of 2022.

  • Treasurer: Chris Weston

    Chris joined the Holden Street Committee in April 2021 and accepted the role of Treasurer in June 2021. He brings over 20 year's experience of Finance & banking experience, with more than 15 years exclusively working with Not-for-profit organisations.

    Because of this experience, Chris understands the importance of the sector and how it assists local communities. When not working, Chris enjoys travelling, cooking, and spending time with his family.

  • Secretary: Chris Opie

    Chris has a master’s degree in philosophy. Subsequently, Chris worked in the Victorian public service in IT before moving into the private sector. Chris has lived in Clifton Hill for over thirty years and has been part of our Holden Street community for many of those. For a number of years now, Chris has taught English as a second language at Holden Street.

  • Member: Lyn Pedersen

    Lyn lived in Fitzroy North since about 1975 when she was studying education at La Trobe Uni. Lyn taught at Sea Lake for a couple of years then returned and isstill here. I taught secondary school for 3 decades. Lyn worked as an Integration Coordinator for some time, and taught Humanities, Media Studies and English. Eventually Lyn took family leave as the 3 kids arrived and it was during this time that she assisted Anne Horrigan Dixon set up our Neighbourhood House. Lyn also trained as a Breastfeeding Counsellor and worked in a voluntary capacity in the inner urban area for over 15 years. More recently Lyn has worked at La Trobe Uni as a Tutor, Lecturer and Student Support Counsellor.

    Lyn is retired now, not totally by choice!! She can’t wait to be able to get back involved with the daily activities at Holden Street Neighbourhood House

  • Member: Dominic Szeker

    Originally from New Zealand, Dominic has now called Melbourne home for over a decade. Dominic loves biking, reading, travelling, music and trying to make the world a better place to be. Professionally Dominic has both not-for-profit and government experience and is committed to support the Holden Street Neighborhood House to be an integral part of the community.

  • Member: Angela Bell

    Angela has more than 20 years experience in senior roles in corporate and not-for-profit sectors.She has held the CEO role at a national not- for-profit, overseeing the operational and strategic objectives of a labour-rights based accreditation program.

    In the private sector Angela oversaw corporate social responsibility, internal communications,social and free media activities across Australia and the United Kingdom for an ASX listed lawfirm. Throughout her career, Angela has been responsible for managing many high-profile issues and hasprovided advice on crisis communications and stakeholder engagement.

    While living in London Angela worked for the Commission for a Sustainable London 2012 - an authority set up to oversee the sustainability elements of the London Olympic Games. Prior to that she worked as a Ministerial Advisor within the Queensland Government. Angela holds a Bachelor of Media and Communications and a Graduate Certificate in Social Impact at Melbourne Business School.
